I. Regulation

Objective

  • Conduct a diagnosis of the current status of mandatory PCI regulations and their legal process. Identify the current status of regulations and design methodologies to monitor compliance in the region.
  • Identify opportunities for standardizing the use of regulations specific to the region.
  • Working as a team with other local and regional organizations to develop methodologies that enable member countries of the network to influence their local governments to improve building safety conditions.
  • Conduct a diagnosis of the current state of regulations and their legal process: where, how they are designed, what is installed, who supervises it.

II. Education

Objective

  • Identify the real needs for training and updating specialists in the region.
  • Propose a standardized training scheme recognized and endorsed by LATAM PCI in accordance with the required competencies.
  • Recommend a base of certified or accredited instructors through the network for the development of standardized training programs.
  • Develop a curriculum of competencies that a specialist should have. Propose a certification program for specialists.

III. Visibility

Objective

  • Transforming the way we deal with fire problems in Latin America, making fire protection a relevant issue from a social, technical and regulatory perspective.
  • Create World Fire Prevention Day.
  • Create educational programs for authorities, clients and society in general.

IV. Business Ethics

Objective

V. Statistics

Objective

Create a standardized information system, containing:
  • Fire regulations in each country. Technical standards used in each country.
  • What is vocational training like in each country?
  • Resources available in the country (laboratories, universities). Statistics.
